FAQ + CARE INSTRUCTIONS
+ CHOLLA CHIME CARE +
All Cholla Chimes are made using real cholla cactus, sustainably collected from the deserts of the southwest, and tumbled stained glass. Each of these windchimes are handmade and while designed for indoor and outdoor use, should be treated with care to ensure enjoyment for years to come.
TO EXTEND THE LIFE OF YOUR CHOLLA CHIME
+ Hang your chime in an area protected from direct sunlight or heavy winds. Excellent locations include under a porch underhand or in a shady tree.
+ Bring your chimes in during extreme weather or windstorms. If you live in an area with harsh winters, store your Cholla Chime inside until the season passes.
+ Occasionally wipe off your chimes with a damp cloth to remove dust or debris.
+ Just like most dried woody material, cholla cactus “bones” are sensitive to humidity and sudden temperature changes. Despite all our precautions, infrequently, cracks in the cholla may occur as it expands and contracts in reaction to climate changes.
+ EARRING CARE +
All earrings are crafted using stained glass, lead-free solder, and hypoallergenic metals. To allow your earrings to live their best life:
+ KEEP THEM DRY: Avoid wearing your earrings in the shower, bath, pool, or any body of water. It’s best to remove earrings prior to any activities that may induce heavy sweating.
+ STORE THEM PROPERLY: Store earrings in a dry, cool place. Keep them away from direct sunlight and humidity. Use a jewelry box or pouch to prevent scratching or damage.
+ CLEAN EARRINGS REGULARY: Clean using a soft cloth and a mild soap. Avoid using anything abrasive or harsh chemicals. Rinse earrings with water and pat dry.
+ HANDLE WITH CARE: Avoid tugging or pulling on your earrings. Remove earrings prior to any physical labor or moderate to high intensity activities.
+ CHECK FOR DAMAGE: Inspect your earrings regularly for signs of damage or broken clasps. Please contact me if a repair is necessary.
+ STAINED GLASS PANEL CARE +
Your new stained glass panel will come freshly cleaned, polished, and ready to hang or install in your home. Always use a screw in hook or nail to hang your piece. Suction cups and command strips are never recommended as they can fail, potentially damaging your piece. Should you choose to use either, please check and/or clean it often to make sure that your piece is still secure.
CLEANING + ADDITIONAL CARE OF YOUR PANEL:
+ Use a dry microfiber or soft cotton cloth for cleaning. If necessary, use water and a mild soap such as Dawn along with a soft cloth or soft toothbrush for deep cleaning. Make sure to gently dry the panel immediately after washing. You can use a carnauba wax or general polish such as Pledge to restore shine and add protection from oxidation.
+ It is natural for lead and solder lines to oxidize over time. If this happens, use a wet q-tip to wipe it away.
+ Avoid contact with anything abrasive, as it may scuff or damage your piece. Especially panels that have a black or copper finish or any pieces made with iridescent glass.
+ Proper care and maintenance will allow you to enjoy your stained glass piece for years to come!
DISCLAIMER:
+ Stained glass panels are made using lead and are safe to handle. Lead is only harmful if inhaled or ingested. As a precaution, wash your hands after handling and cleaning. Keep away from children and pets.
