about the artist
WELCOME TO THE DESERT
I was born and raised in the desert where during the hottest months you’d always hear people say “at least it’s only a dry heat”. As if that would make the sun’s intensity lessen, while it baked the earth and everything around it. There were times when I was younger that I thought I may escape the southwest and its arid region, but I have come to deeply love this landscape and couldn’t imagine calling anywhere else home.
I consider myself a multi-disciplinary artist, primarily working with glass, ink pen, and photography. I love to explore other mediums, but my favorite art form is stained glass. I love the challenge of capturing “the moment” in glass and enjoy the slow process of creating a work of art. I find inspiration from my home’s rugged beauty and consider the terrain to be my muse.
When not in my studio, you can find me outside or spending time with my partner and pups. I enjoy connecting with nature and will find any way to be in it whether it’s by foot, bike, car, or boat. These adventures have helped instill a deep appreciation for the land I call home and have become an integral part of who I am and what inspires my art.
